Tenuta Montanello is located in Castiglione Falletto, high on the hill Montanello with its slopes where ancient vines grow in the optimum soil.
Montanello is ideally located and is one of the places in Barolo DOCG which produces very good grapes.
Here, wines are made by a skilled winemaker in a traditional, accurate and natural way. The wines are exclusive with depth and power, at the same time elegant and complex.

On April 19, 1864, Bartolomeo Racca bought the Tenuta Montanello vineyard from Patrizio Filippo di Scagnello, Count of Castiglione Falletto.
Tenuta Montanello was for many years the headquarters of the first socala (cooperative, community) winery in the Langhe called Cantina Sociale Castiglione Falletto. Towards the end of 1800, the cooperative gathered as many as 36 producers from the municipality. With this, the first production of Barolo and other wines from Tenuta Montanello began.
Five generations later, Tenuta Montanello is still owned by the Racca family. Today the farm is managed by Alberto Racca, he leads the winery with respect for nature and long tradition with openness to modern innovations in the wine sector. The Montanello hill has always been considered one of the best growing locations in Barolo, it is recorded by Renato Ratti in his Carta del Barolo and by Slow Food as Grandi Vigne delle Langhe.
The combination of the soil and the perfect exposure of the slopes to the south, south-west and west gives a Barolo with an intense aroma, worthy of its ancient history.
